The Doidge Racing Team Family

Doidge Racing Team was established in 1957 by Tom Doidge. The race team began with his oldest son, Chuck, racing in Quarter-Midget Race cars. In 1961 Tom started racing speedboats in the Pacific-One Design Hydroplane class. Tom's sons (Chuck and Danny) continued the racing tradition by racing in the 225-hydroplane class. Danny's racing progressed into the 5-litre hydroplane class, the 6-litre class and currently the Crackerbox class.

Keeping the family racing tradition unbroken many of the Doidge grandchildren are getting into racing. Dan's son David and daughter Jennifer share the Rider duties in the P-21. David is a Naval Recruiter, and Jennifer is a Captain flying for a private charter firm on the East Coast. 

In the P-94 are Chuck's son's Jeff and Donald.  Jeff usually does the driving duties but Donald has been wrangling the wheel away from him some! Also, another grandson, Kenny Knudson, successfully competed in hydroplane racing and was the Rider in Gramp's Cracker for the first 9 years or so.
